A court hearing over an adult male shelter on Emmons Avenue in Sheepshead Bay has been moved to Oct. 19, and the restraining order blocking the city from placing additional occupants at the site has been extended to the same date, City Councilwoman Inna Vernikov announced.
The city is temporarily barred from moving any more occupants into the building while the case awaits a hearing, Vernikov said in a statement posted to her official page.
She also said that after residents complained of crime and disorderly behavior in the area, she and Assemblymember Kalman Yeger requested a police presence. Officers will check the area intermittently between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m., she said.
Vernikov thanked the attorneys working on the case and the NYPD's 61st Precinct.
